Terri Blackstock

Dear Readers,
If I Run by Terri Blackstock starts a new series for the queen of Christian suspense.  She has been paving the way for other suspense writers for years in the Christian market.  I have been enjoying her books for many years and look forward to many more.

Casey arrives at her boyfriend’s house to find him murdered.  With her DNA all over the crime scene, she goes on the run.  Her past experience with the police has not been positive and she knows this will end badly for her.  But who would have murdered Brent and why do they want Casey found guilty of the crime?

Dylan is hired to find his friend's murderer.  All the evidence points to Casey but as Dylan looks into the crime more and gets to know Casey through her family and friends, he begins to doubt.  The clues are just not adding up.  He begins to wonder if she actually committed the crime.  Who wants to frame her and why?

Once again Terri proves why she is the queen.  Fast paced, with twists and turns that make you really wonder who is who and yet filled with really interesting and in some cases, delightful characters.  I had the chance to read this book while on vacation and was able to finish it in one day.  I have to admit that the closer I got to the end, the less I wanted it to end.  It is book one of a series and it is going to be a series you will have to read in order.  Which of course only makes it more fun as the storyline will continue to develop and we will get to know the people involved better and better.

I am already looking forward to when book #2 releases and I hope it is very soon.

Happy Reading,

Terri Blackstock

Dear Readers.
Terri Blackstock is now writing stand alone books. No more series for her. With the results like Predator I am very happy she did. This is an intense books that is very relevant to things happening today. Facebook, MySpace and Tweeting are so popular and it is so easy to believe you are safe online when you have no idea who maybe lurking in the shadows.
Krista's younger sister is killed. She makes a vow to catch the killer. She is frustrated by what she sees as a lack of caring by the on-line company that "caused" Ella's death. She thinks that they should do more to protect their clients and they feel you just need to be smarter on-line. When Krista confronts the CEO of GrapeVyne her opinions of him and his company don't change.
Ryan is bothered by what has happen to his brainchild. He and his college roommate started the Grapevyne as a way to keep track of their college friends and happens. When it started making money and grew to start challenging Facebook, investors started to take notice. When he sold control of the company, it became about making money, not about helping people. When Ryan meets Krista his opinion of her changes.

This is one of those books that parents and those using the social websites should read. It is a bit creepy as she does a good job of hiding her murderer well, but it is about something that we all run into. It reminded me that others are watching even when I am not expecting it.

Terri Blackstock

Dear Readers,

Terri Blackstock has long been a favorite author of mine. She is a good mystery writer and puts a lot into her characters. I did struggle with her last series, Restoration series, but the mysteries within the series were very enjoyable.

Double Minds is her new step into writing stand-alones. She, and these are her words not mine, "is to old to remember all about each character in the series..." So we are the ones reaping the benefits of this and she is now writing books like this one.

Parker James is a fantastic song writer with the "want" to be a singer. She does have the ability, but can't seem to get any of the music "houses" to want to sign her. The night she is giving a concert, her brother Gibson calls and tells her that there has been a murder at the company she works for. Gibson is a detective for the Nashville police dept. He isn't sure that Parker wasn't the target and when Parker learns more and more she is sure that it was her that was the target.

Parker isn't ready to find out about the dark underbelly of the christian music industry. She can't believe all the backstabbing, theft of music and songs, and general nastiness that goes on behind the scenes. She can't figure out if they are all suppose to be Christians, why are they acting that way. Even when her best friend Serene hits it big, she has a boat load of baggage and is fighting an eating disorder. Things are just suppose to be different than the rest of the world.

This book doesn't pull any punches on what does happen behind the scenes anywhere and everywhere. People are all the same, even if they are famous. None of us is perfect, we just like to think our favorite stars are. It does make for an interesting perspective on this story. It is not a storyline you hear much about, but combined with the good mystery that has plenty of murder and mayhem.

Terri Blackstock

Dear Readers,

I wanted to let you know that Terri Blackstock latest book Double Minds released yesterday. It starts a new chapter for Terri because she is no longer writing series. Her books will, according to her, be stand alones now. She is having a hard time keeping series straight, again her words not mine, and to many readers are writing her to point out the mistakes she is making.

Double Minds is, of course, a murder mystery. Parker James is a struggling artist who gets caught up in a mystery that is making her question everything about her own life. It is a new mixture of Terri's mystery and a look at the inside of the Christian music industry.

I haven't read this yet. But I feel very confident with recommending this to you. Terri is know for her good mysteries, interesting characters and good research. For anyone who hasn't read her yet, she is one I think you will like. She isn't creepy like Brandilyn Collins, more like Dee Henderson or Mindy Starns Clark.

I will do a review when I get a chance to read it.
