Dear Readers,
Historical fiction remains a strong genre on the fiction market. There is something about being able to curl up with a gentle story set in past where things were "better" and "safer." Which isn't true, they just had different problems and the answers are already written in the history books.
She Shall be Praised by Ginny Aiken is one of those such books. A story that is set in the Wyoming territory during 1800's. There are no major historical happens, just the men and women working to tame the wilds and make a go of it in the new lands of America.
When Emma steps off the carriage to give her new puppy exercise, she never expects to be left behind in the middle of no where in the need of rescuing, but that is what happens to her. Her knight in shining armor is Peter Lowery and he refuses to be her to town while the growing season is happening. He will house her and feed her until fall, but she must earn her keep.
When you are looking for a quaint get away, Ginny Aiken's books fit the bill perfectly. It will give you a glimpse into what life was like as the families worked to make a go of life. It is will make you want to curl up in a rocking chair in front of a crackling fire and rest for a while.
Happy Reading,
